What kind of name is Armelle? =)
Isn't it great to have something to blog about? It will be wonderful to get to know Courtney the Mother. Your life is about to change drastically...for the better of course. The love a mother feels for her baby, even when it's a tadpole is something that you can't explain until you feel it. It's funny because after 9 months of sleeping with the tadpole inside of you, although you are 100% relieved when it comes out, you miss the feeling for a while and feel like the baby is far away from you when its in a bassinette next to your bed.
How exciting to have an ultrasound right away and see the little tadpole! I can just see you and Kel sitting on your couch in your cozy living room, with your new wood burner, looking at the ultrasound photos and Kelly giving the tadpole little kisses...
I didn't have an ultrasound until I was five months along... which, at that point, they could see what sex the baby was. Chester didn't want to know if Yaya was a boy or a girl. I was indifferent. It's convenient to know. I don't really feel like it is a surprise when they tell you if it's a boy or a girl. I think it's a bit weird NOT to know when the doctors know and they're keeping this secret from you like it's a present or something and your belly is the wrapping paper.
Are you going to go along with technology or fight it and wait for the doctor to call out, "It's a girl!" or "It's a boy!" I think it's exciting for the husband to hear those words when the baby is born, but from the female's perspective... I was just happy that it was out and healthy... I didn't care whether it was a boy, girl, it, or a little monster.
congratulations courtney and kelly! we, keobounphengs, are very excited for you to join the world of parenthood! courtney, i hope that your pregnacy is going well and that you are feeling good.
i loved being pregnant, sooo much! enjoy every minute of it, it is an amazing road to travel in your body...you will never be the same!
best to you!
